Default DIY Cleaning MAF Sensor

I forgot to add this step. This step is very important.
Be sure to clean these items too which are on the MAF sensor as well.

I had a setback with my damn maf bolts. They are stripped and rusted into the housing, so I have some work ahead of me. Any ideas on drilling/using an extractor tool? -Brandon

my car ran like complete ass, threw 5 check engine codes. I cleaned the maf sensor properly the second time and everything went away. My car gets almost 400 miles to the tank and accelerates like a normal is300

CRC brand actually has a spray for the MAF, it's labeled MAF cleaner

I've been doing extensive research on this topic, as to blame this for my rich fuel mixture and not passing smog....

There have been multiple threads on clublexus about people cleaning their AFM (air flow meters) not MAF, and destroying them....

I would advise anyone that has done this or thinking about doing this to reconsider.....

when you reset the ECU, while the neg batt cable is unplugged, do you have to turn the key in the ignition to the run position and then pump the breaks? or just while its off?

I haven't really noticed any difference right off the bat. I just had it serviced a bit by Lexus though, they may have done a cleaning.

I did the throttle cable and accelerator spring delete right before though, and that was a huge difference.
